What we do

The mission of the NFVCC Youth Initiative is “to develop well rounded young adults through leadership, community involvement, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.” We accomplish this mission by:

    1. Educating youth and adults on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.
    2. Participating and having fun with safe, alternative activities.
    3. Providing diversion programs for youth that have used substances before.
    4. Advocating for policy change and rules that keep youth safe.

The NFVCC Youth Initiative has developed both high school and middle school Youth Action Teams. These Youth Action Teams help promote healthy behaviors for students in the NFV School District. We are considered an ISTEP Chapter (Iowa Students for Tobacco Education and Prevention).

  • MS Youth Action Team meets the first Wednesday of every month at the NFVCC YFL building.
  • HS Youth Action Team meets the second Wednesday of every month at the NFVHS.
